Arcachon

Situated along the Atlantic coast, Arcachon Bay is a haven of calm within reach of dynamic city life. During your tour you will visit the city of Arcachon with its two parts: Summer town and its seaside lifestyle and Winter town, much quieter with its great architectural diversity and sumptuous villas hidden away in the pine trees.

You could take a stroll through fishermen villages where a relaxed and quiet atmosphere will welcome you.

Or if you are feeling up to a challenge, come and climb ʺLa dune du Pilatʺ. Measuring approximately 2.7 km long, 500 m wide and up to 106.60 m high, this always-moving sand dune is the highest sand dune in Western Europe. From the top, you will enjoy uninterrupted and breathtaking panoramic views of the Arcachon Bay (including the sandbank: Banc d’Arguin), the Atlantic Ocean and the large pine forest situated east of the dune.

Don’t forget to taste local oysters with a glass of dry white wine at one of the charming local Oyster Huts.

Cognac

The town of Cognac overlooks the Charente River. Mainly built on the river’s left bank, the town is on one of the pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Compostela and is birthplace of the iconic Renaissance king: Francis I of France.

Cognac remains a must for those who enjoy brandy. Your tour will include a private visit and tasting at one of the world-renowned houses (Hennessy, Remy Martin, Martell, Courvoisier…) and also at a smaller, but just as talented, local producer.

The winemaker will explain to you the history of this unique double-distilled spirit which has to be made in specific areas to be granted the name Cognac. During your visit, you will taste three different types of cognac (VS, VSOP, XO).

Or discover La Roque-Gageac which has been elected one of the most beautiful villages in France. With its typical rooftops, old-fashioned charm and breathtaking landscapes, La Roque-Gageac is a village that invites you to daydream of times gone-by. Then go to the village of Domme famous for being where knight Templars were imprisoned in the fortified tower of this “bastide” during the Middle Ages.
